Through Umbrian Contrade – Where Taste Meets Tradition
Day 1 – Arrival in Umbria: The Land That Nourishes
Arrival with private transfer and check‑in at the selected accommodation. The first encounter with the territory begins with the land itself: a guided visit to cultivated fields and local vegetable gardens introduces the natural cycles of Umbria, traditional crops, and the daily relationship between farmers and the landscape. The day concludes with a dinner dedicated to local products and regional flavours.
Day 2 – Cooking as Storytelling: Farm & Agriturismo
The second day enters the heart of the relationship between production and cuisine. In a local farm, the experience follows the natural journey of ingredients — from harvesting to transformation. A showcooking dedicated to Umbrian cuisine reveals how simple, seasonal products become dishes capable of expressing a culture. Lunch or dinner in an agriturismo completes the experience, bringing to the table everything discovered throughout the day. Possibility to visit a local producer or enjoy free time for relaxation.
Giorno 3 – Borghi e botteghe: le mani che trasformano la materia
The story continues beyond the kitchen, meeting the artisans who preserve techniques and knowledge handed down over time. The day unfolds through selected local realities dedicated to the processing of marsh reed, saffron, extra‑virgin olive oil, and other traditional productions. Each encounter conveys the same principle: a raw material gains value through time, care, and craftsmanship. The day concludes with a tasting at a local winery.
Day 4 – Wine, Traditions & the Synthesis of the Journey
The final experiential day brings together all elements of the itinerary. A visit to a winery with guided tasting reveals how the agricultural landscape becomes wine through knowledge, technique, and patience. The journey may be enriched with experiential workshops, showcooking, meetings with local producers, or a final gastronomic experience. The concluding dinner becomes the moment where products, people, and places encountered over the previous days merge into a single story.
Day 5 – Departure
After breakfast, end of stay and private transfer back. Possibility to extend the journey with additional experiences across the territory.
Travel Advisor’s Recommendation
This is a journey into the system that makes Umbria unique: the land that produces, the hands that transform, and the people who preserve a living culture. Food is not the final destination — it is the most authentic way to read a territory.
